Why not start my blog by reviewing one of the most stylish and trendy restaurants in Dubai, 101 Dining Lounge & Bar – a great venue if you want to impress! It’s pricy, but no more than you’d expect from a 5-star hotel restaurant on Palm Jumeirah – and I think the venue makes it worth it.
The restaurant is situated within the beautiful grounds of One&Only The Palm – at the very tip of the crescent’s west side. Make sure you’re not rushed for time when visiting. It’s a long drive to the end of the crescent and when you arrive at the hotel I highly recommend that you walk down to the restaurant, located at the resort’s private marina, instead of opting for a hotel buggy – if it’s not too hot that is! The walk takes you through the gorgeous hotel lobby, the garden and swimming pool area and past some of the resort’s beautiful beach villas. It also gives you a great opportunity to stop and enjoy the stunning panoramic views of the Dubai Marina skyline – a mind-boggling view considering that area only had a few hotels and six unfinished towers back in 2003.
It’s also possible to arrive by private boat – either to dine or pick-up a Yacht Hamper. If you’re like me and don’t have your own yacht/boat – don’t despair. One&Only operates a shuttle boat between Royal Mirage and The Palm. It departs from The Jetty Lounge – accessible from the main parking at The Palace. It’s mainly for hotel guests, but available to outside dining guests if available capacity. Must be confirmed in advance through One&Only The Palm’s Restaurant Reservations: 04-440 1030.
The restaurant offers a light tapas menu and a Mediterranean cuisine main menu. The Seafood Ravioli is one of my favourites…as was the Lasagna, but sadly that was off the menu on my last visit. Anyway, my experience is that the food is generally very good, especially when accompanied by delicious rose from Provence. Add al fresco dining and Voila!
