Certo (Italian)

Media City may not be the obvious choice for an evening out, but Certo – one of my all-time favourite Italian restaurants in Dubai – is worth the visit.

We have been frequenting Certo on a regular basis since the restaurant opened it’s doors in 2005. Today, Italian Chef Daniele Capobianco rules the kitchen and never before has the sea bass, one of the restaurant’s signature dishes, tasted better. Must be the best in town!

Credit to Assisting F&B Manager Giovanni (Sorry ladies, he just got married!), Restaurant Manager Claudio, Chef Daniele and all the other wonderful staff for creating an authentic and friendly Italian restaurant with great food and vibe. Good value for money!

A nice way to start or end your evening out is a visit to the hotels roof-top bar, Tamanya Terrace, or the ICON Bar & Lounge (wine bar) where Madan, one of the best sommeliers in Dubai, will help you chose an excellent grape!

In February 2016 I moved back to my native Norway after 13 years in Dubai, preceeded by two years in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Before becoming a full time expat in 2001, I had a carrer as a travel consultant in Norway. My expat portfolio also includes six of my teenage years in Bahrain many moons ago and two years in Southport, Connecticut, USA.
